I know the definition of family, and my parents are no longer my family. I forgot what parents were due to the fact they think I’m a wall because I don’t talk. That I’m a mistake because I don’t do big important things in this world. That I’m not going to grow up and be a rocket scientist because I don’t get straight A’s. Next time people want to become parents know what you’re getting yourself into.
I’m tired of having to live up to an expectation of what they want me to be. I’m tired of being threatened. I’m tired of not having a voice because you took that away from me. I’m just tired.
When I grow up and actually do something besides sit around and make people feel bad about themselves, I’ll look down at you and think I’m glad I didn’t become a horrible monster that feeds on peoples pain and misery.
It sucks being the one to suffer through your unresponsible actions. I’m not being the victim of that. I’m just done.
Here is MY definition of a parent:
Loving, caring, and understanding. Someone who pushes you in the first direction in a positive way. Someone who gives you a voice to use it to inspire others. Someone who is there for you when you fall down and can’t seem to find your way back up. Someone who actually cares about your future.
My parents, are absolutely not that definition. I hope one day they’ll see this and realize they missed out on two girls who are smarter than they think, who are wiser than they are and who are stronger than they will ever believe. I am not going to take anymore of this. I’m tired of being disrespected.
For now, this is the only ‘voice’ I have. My parents took that away from me. Be grateful that you have parents who care and understand you. Who want a future for you. They obviously don’t seem one if me.
